Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 egg
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
4 slices white american or provolone cheese, cut into quarters
Olive oil
Garnish:
Avocado
4 slices bacon, cooked and broken into quarters
Grape tomatoes, halved
Avocado cream (see recipe below)
Directions:
Combine turkey through breadcrumbs in a medium bowl. Mix well to combine. Score into 4 equal portions to help form equal sized patties.
Form mixture into 14-16 balls. Don’t flatten.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add drizzle of olive oil. Add patties with enough space in between them. Gently flatten with spatula. Cook 4-5 minutes and flip. Top with 2 squares of cheese. Cover and cook 4-5 more minutes.
If using avocado cream, prepare now according to directions below.
Remove burgers from pan and plate on large platter. Top with piece of bacon, avocado and tomato. Hold together by gently placing toothpick though the top down. Serve immediately with side of avocado cream.
Spicy Avocado Cream:
2 avocados, pitted
½ cup sour cream
1 jalapeno, roughly chopped and seeds removed if desired for less heat
1 cup fresh cilantro
Juice and zest of 1 large lime
1 tsp salt
Directions:
Scoop avocado into the bowl of a food processor along with rest of ingredients. Pulse until smooth, streaming in a few tablespoons of water to create a looser consistency if desired.
