There’s not much more to say about this dip than it’s easily one of the most delicious and addicting ones you can make. Easy to prep ahead and let set up until ready to serve. Kids and adults alike ate this one up. Serve with potato chips and fresh veggies.
Serves 8
Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter
2 yellow onions, diced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 block cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
Kosher salt
Black pepper
To Serve:
Scallions, chopped
Grated Gruyère cheese
Directions:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt butter. Add sliced onions, 1 tsp kosher salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Cook on low for 25-25 minutes or until golden brown and caramelized. Midway through cooking, add Worcestershire sauce. Stir around frequently while cooking.
When done, remove from heat and allow to slightly cool.
In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients (cream cheese through Gruyère cheese). Whisk until smooth. Fold in nearly all of the caramelized onions. Taste and adjust salt and pepper, if needed. Place in serving bowl. Garnish with remaining caramelized onions.
Refrigerate for at least 60 minutes.
Add chopped scallions and extra grated cheese, if desired.
